Why You Should Burst Crackers During Deepavali? Know it with the Help of Science.

Deepavali, known as the festival of lights, is a festival celebrated with great pomp, especially in India. The culture of bursting crackers during Deepavali is being carried forward through ages, but this has been reducing nowadays. In this post, I wish to bring to your notice the scientific reason for bursting crackers during Deepavali.

Before discovering the reason, let us analyze the climatic conditions before and after Deepavali. We observe that during the months July to October the climate is moist and often raining. By the end of October, the winter season begins. During this seasonal shift, we get a small gap of a week or so without rains and fast blowing winds which is favourable for bursting crackers. Now, a few of you would have found out that the places filled with rainwater remain stagnant and evaporate as at the end of the monsoon season the winter begins which has shorter sunny days leading to lesser evaporation. This creates a breeding ground for mosquitos and other harmful and dangerous organisms which causes spread in diseases.

Bursting crackers produce huge amounts of heat, light, smoke and sound. The mosquitos cannot resist the heat and smoke produced leading to their end. Though it may pollute the environment having plants and trees around can neutralize the effect with zero pollution. The heat, light, smoke and sound also kill various other harmful microorganisms that emerge during winters spreading diseases. In other ways, it can also bring in a sense of happiness and creating and strengthening bonds with people around and reducing the stress in mind.

It's just once in a year you have such a great chance of chasing harmful organisms and strengthening bonds, so don't miss it and enjoy Deepavali.
